Let me set the scene: You're driving in, GPS is taking you on a tour of "places you'd never go alone at night," and you're questioning every life choice that led you here. Is this a setup? Am I about to become a true crime podcast episode? But then--bam!--you pull up, park (somehow, miraculously), and suddenly it's like Narnia with cocktails. You step onto that patio and forget all about the sketchy road that tried to break your spirit. THE PATIO IS A WHOLE VIBE. I'm talking string lights, great music, everyone's chill but dressed like they accidentally stumbled into coolness. And listen--if you can get a yurt, DO IT. Don't ask questions, just say yes. Those things are like bougie little hobbit homes with ambiance. Even if you don't snag one, the patio alone is still amazing. The food is great (get the charcuterie!) I can't wait to go back to The District!

Hidden around a quaint corner in Springfield, The District stands out as a stylish spot- posh on the outside and oozing with energy on the inside with touches of art deco influence but modern flair. My friend and I stopped by before The Velvet Underground show at The Glass Factory and were treated with care once our server knew we're on a tight schedule. I got the French onion pasta and hope my friend got the shrimp and grits. We were in a hurry but I look forward to returning for a try at their mimosa tower.

We visited The District for brunch recently. The interior is actually very quaint and homey. The bar is located immediately to the right and it was full along with most inside tables. Most seating is outside. The place was buzzing on this afternoon and just looked like a place where the locals came and we found out why. The winners at the District are: The food - Everything we had was exceptional. The Spinach Artichoke Dip was fantastic. Maybe the best I've had. Creamy but thick and flavorful. The bread was a great pairing too. It just should have been crisped up a bit. The chicken and waffles were amazing. The waffles sweet, the chicken spiced perfectly and it was the epitome of what the sweet and savory combination should be. We also had the bread pudding. It was decadently delicious. Everything hit. One more accolade I can't dismiss is the service. Our waitress Lee, who is missing her calling as a voiceover actress, was fantastic. She was attentive, and truly cared about our overall experience. The opportunities here lie in simply planning and logistics and is what keeps this from being 5 stars for me. We sat outside. It was hot, airflow was not good. The plastic up from the winter. There was a portable AC unit there but it was not nearly enough for the area. Thank God for Lee who actually brought us fans and a device to keep flies away. She also hooked us up with a pitcher of water. That helped because the water glasses are small. Maybe 6-8 ounces. My wife wanted to try the San Gria. It's only sold by the pitcher. There was a band. That's fine. It was loud though. They were outside of our area and we were shouting to talk to each other. We'll be back. I also highly recommend you try this place. I would simply think about time of year, time of day and verify where you'll be seated as well.

Food was delicious, service was good, but being seated at a table on the plastic semi-enclosed patio was not pleasant on the very warm Sunday. We were thankful for the pitcher of water left at our table and the effort to assist with a small, portable fan and a device to keep the flies off us and our food, but it was not a great experience. The open air patio looked somewhat cooler but I wish the reservation through Yelp identified where the seating was located. Highly recommend dining here only during cooler weather unless you have a big enough party for an air conditioned space. All that said, the food was great. I wish they offered sangria by the glass not just a pitcher, so we only had water and a club soda. Getting water refills was tough for a while, as they were very busy for brunch, but eventually leaving the pitcher with us worked well. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which was creamy, cheesy and warm. The fresh and soft focaccia was a perfect pairing with this dip. We decided to order two entrees to split, the decadent bread pudding French toast and chicken and waffles. Both the bread pudding and waffles were more like dessert but really yummy. I would have loved a bit more whipped mascarpone but it was dense, sweet and delicious. The waffles were a bit sweet for me, coated in sugar crystals but the waffle was tasty. The fried chicken thigh was juicy, crispy and seasoned right. Sadly, we will have to look at the weather when considering dining here again.

A stunner. Truly. I had doubts when I pulled up, then when I walked in, WOW. The ambiance was immaculate, the staff incredibly welcoming, the food, impeccable. I ordered the Mrs Jackson for a drink- Divine. We ordered the "Adult Happy Meal" such a cute ode to the McD'a version. Also ordered the braised short rib and cheesy grits. MOUTH WATERING! The attention to detail is everywhere and DEFINITELY worth the drive, time and money.

This place has been long overdue for a revisit. The menu was a little more limited compared to when I went last time but still offered large filling entrees. The drinks were still amazing. Our server recommended we try the Adult Happy Meal and were NOT disappointed. It came with a large chicken nugget with a very mayo creamy aioli which I wish had a bit more of a bite to it and more liquid, and a mini Big Mac followed by a funfetti style cake. I also had the coffee liquor cocktail that had a delicious sprinkling of cinnamon.
